I ordered 2 x 2Gig kits of crucial last week got it today

got one brand new set of boxed ram
and got 2 sticks shoved into a anti static bag without any protection
lying loose in the box

They dont even have the decency to offer to send me out new ram and pick up
the second hand stuff.

Why do I have to go out of my way for a mistake they made ?

And who are "They" ?
Assuming he/She means OCUK as you cannot mention competitors;)

But as you cannot have "anti-OCUK" post I'm sure this will disappear soon.

And it probably was not second hand RAM but more likely to be RAM that was tested before hand.

maybe it's because you have a lame forum handle?

*waits for post/thread to be deleted :)*

Was it from the clearance section if not just send it back (your entitled to), if they dont want to swap it for a new and sealed set get a refund and go elsewhere.

i'm sure if you talk to them, they will be able to sort it out.
U can't post on here, cause it's thier fourm.

Talk to them about it

If this gets deleted does it still count to my post count ?!?!? :D

and be charged a "re-stocking Fee".

either way you should phone them or send an email/webnote.;)

re-stocking fee only applies if the goods arrive as described...

if they are sold as "new" but have been opened i would say that invalidates the description.

FWIW i bought some Crucial ballistix and they arrived in a brown box with a broken seal, however the ram were sealed inside the anti static. it runs fine and clocks well, for 5300 stuff:):)

From experience they don't test memory before sending it out.

I'd be peeved if it didn't come in a sealed box.

Right just back from the post office
I have sent them it back
The point I was trying to make is that I have had to go out
of my way and waste my time sending back stuff that they should
not have sent in the first place.

The 2 sticks of ram rattling together inside an anti static bag without any
protection I do not find acceptable , god knows how much the box would have
been kicked around on its 4 day 24 hour delivery.

If both had came in static bags I would have assumed crucial are cutting back
on packaging costs , but since one came in a proper retail box , with card board seperators
in individual anti static bags , and one set just came stuffed into a static bag without any protection.

I would have liked them to have sent out a replacement set straight away and picked up the other set
when delivering them replacements.

there are very few companies that offer pick up and replace type service as frankly, almost all delivery companies refuse to let the delivery guys do pick ups, or pick up guys do deliveries, cos they are idiots. only a few places, like argos or john lewis or something would do it, as they do their own deliverys.

were they "retail" kits that you ordered?

sending them in none retail packaging is fine, but 2 sticks banging against each other in a bag is a joke. sort it out
If you feel it needs "sorting out" email/phone/webnote the shop;)

Always remember folks an enforced holiday often offends:p:D
