Drive to Durham city centre and have a look about. Not a lot to see in Sunderland really, South shields will be grim if the weather is bad. Newcastle you could take a look down the quayside. But for somewhere close to kill some time I'd pick Durham every time myself.

He'll be alright man christ he lives near Milton keynes and that one the biggest holes ever as for roughness everwhere has it look at the East end of Newcastle its like a warzone.

Newcastle's the place for the nightlife.
The only half decent club in Sunderland was liquid and it closed down, was full of 14 year old girls anyway, don't know about you but that's NOT what I'm after!
