Morning, my daughter turned our computer on yesterday for it do make a bit of a pop and take out the downstairs ring main circuit in the fusebox...
...now upon getting home from work I proceeded to change the fuse in the plug...still dead...tried another power lead, still dead....mmmmm....
...so I know use the same lead on an old computer we have in the loft, no jo even though I know this one was working before...so new fuse in plug, old computer fires into life, try it on downstairs computer...dead...take it back up an try in loft again...dead.
So the it appears the downstairs computer is blowing the fuse as soon as I put a new one in...bugger...
...now I have no way, that I know of, of testing the power supply as my old computer's power supply is not compatible with the new[er] computer so I cannot swop them over to see...my newer motherboard does not have the right power connection...so does anyone have any ideas as to how I might be able to definately be sure before shelling out £90 on a new supply, or does it look 100% definate that it is the supply...?
...the supply does have a warranty, hopefully if I can find my OcUK reciept...
...but my daughters homework is on the thing and she did not back it up...so I may have to take the plunge buy a new one and hopefully get the other replaced and then keep it as a spare...although unsure as to go for another Seasonic or maybe try an Enermax...see nearer the time...
...thanks in advance for any help or advice folks...at a bit of a loss...
Cheers,
Swampy
