Please refrain from attacking other forum members, I believe it is against the rules.

You didn't specify in your original post, and a one word starter post is hardly the way to get a lively discussion started.

any of them after death. I'm not up for donating anything but blood while I'm alive. even my kidneys. But after death I'm ok with it. Is there anyone here that is an organ donor?

I'm going to donate anything that's needed. Just one stipulation, the recipient must also wear my hairy left hand as a reminder of my generosity.

Donated blood once but I don't have much to spare being Captain Skinnybloke and it knocked me out for days. Probably won't be doing that again so they'll have to settle for mangled body parts when I go.

Are they allowed to wax?

When I was at college a discussion we were having naturally moved donor cards and the tutor’s opinion on them (one of the silly pointless things to fill the day). Anyway he told us a hypothetical story that went something along these lines:

Your walking home from the pub/girlfriends late one night when you cross a zebra crossing after looking both ways (perhaps forgetting). You get hit buy someone half way across and the driver leaves the scene without stopping. It’s late and there are no cameras or witnesses.
Eventually someone comes across you and calls for help and you end up on the operating table in a very bad way.
Doctors know this guy probably wont get caught and this is going to be one big bill to the NHS.
Now the doctors might be able to save you, but you’re in a very bad way indeed, damaged organs, broken bones perhaps even a lost limb
They may be less inclined to put all the effort in needed to save your life when so many others can benefit from your death.

The reason this shocked me so much is if I was a doctor, standing over you with a sick little 12yo girl on her last legs because he kidneys are shot, knowing your probably going to die from your injuries or be a human vegetable for the rest of your life…

…I’d let you die and save the girl.

I would give blood, but due to my sexual preferences I'm not allowed

They can have my organs when I'm gone, but I'm surprised they'd want them tbh.

I'm a registered organ doner, that is to say, my organs may be used after I die. I really don't see a problem with it, I'd like to think I could have someones heart if they no longer needed it and I did. Seeing as I'm young I'd hate to see my organs go to waste and someone die unnecessarily should I get hit by a bus.

Yeah I know!

You have sex with a watermelon once and you struck off every list from organ donation to a pilots licence.

:(

That's pretty unbelievable really. Is it just because of a higher risk of certain diseases or what? Surely there is a fairly equal chance of someone who isn't gay contracting AIDS or something similar.

I've thought about it but I don't like the thought of someone cutting me open and taking all my body parts out when I'm dead, it seems disrespectful, I would give blood though

It's not disrespectful at all - you have to give them permission :p

No I'm not an organ donor but rather an organ recipient. I received a kidney from my Mother just over a year ago and it's given me a new lease of life...

If you are serious about organ donation then perhaps someone somewhere will be thanking you from the bottom of their heart when you are not in a position to need your organs...

It's a very commendable thing you do friend...
