hello i bought a rig around 18 months ago its still a good computer but now id like to start streaming my question is do any of you guys know what would be the best tower set up for it.

I know a lot to the streamers use a 2 towers in a dual system one for gaming and one for the visual

id like my setup to be powerful enough so that when i do go live it looks smooth and high quality

i have a decent budget to get myself setup with so if you could throw me some specs an recommendations on what you would do with a couple of price ranges

it would be much appreciated

There's a few thing i'd like to know first, one is what is your current setup you're using? Including monitors. And what's your budget for the new machine?

Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11227-00-40G)
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
Iiyama ProLite GB2488HSU-B1 24" 144Hz 1ms Widescreen LED Super Slim Bezel Monitor - Black
EVGA SuperNova G2 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
Intel 335 Series 20nm 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive - Retail (SSDSC2CT240A4K5)
Avexir Core Red Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21331104G-2CIR) - red light
Corsair Graphite Series 230T Compact Mid Tower Case Windowed - Black (CC-9011042-WW)
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gbs 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001)
Alpenföhn Brocken ECO CPU Cooler - 120 mm
Pioneer 24x Internal DVR-221LBK DVD Rewriter - OEM

they are the specs on my original tower i have just copy and pasted everything over from the invoice i got from when i purchased

i did have a price range of around 5-6000 in mind to begin with but ive been informed to slight lower the specs an see how i get on with the streaming side of things to begin with as that would be top end gaming an streaming towers so im not to sure on a price range to be honest.

at the moment i am just trying to piece everything together as a project that im thinking will take me 4-6 motnhs till i have everything in place. So once we have a set-up in mind with prices when i come to order we may need to just make a few tweeks but nothing major

I'd keep your power supply, however if you feel the power draw may be too close to the maximum wattage of the PSU, you can upgrade to a 1KW, the case is all down to you, however most streamers would grab themselves a second monitor and a camera if you're into that, i didn't add them on the basket as it's all personal preference. your storage devices are fine, you could upgrade the SSD to an NVMe if you wanted extra speed. This is just my suggestion as it offers maximum power to do a lot of things, and also allows you to overclock if needed/wanted.

I'd also look at getting a full water loop for that system and a better case to house it all, will give a lot better temps, especially with two 1080Ti's, there's a handy configurator if you struggle to know what you need for it all

I'm not very in the know of hardware so would both towers be getting used or is this all just running through one ? as if its both towers am more than willing to drive down to you guys an drop my old tower off so you could do the upgrades on it.

I have picked out 3 new monitors still unsure if i want to wall mount them or just leave them on the stands and a tv for the console gaming side witch willl be wall mounted (all depends on what the new house is ive got in mind how i want the house setup somthing witch is also big enough to use the HTC Vive).
the other added extras ive kind of selected like keyboard, mouse , webcam and audio

that video has confused me more as im not very up to date with th hardware lingo or the majority of the software side either.

i am pretty sure most streamers use the intel i7 but the run at 900p instead of 1080p as is much clearer an runs smooother

Sorry for the late reply, i have been away. Most streamers would only use 1 PC, as it makes sense as most aren't the crazy PC enthusiasts that we have here on the forum, if you're still happy with the 5-6k budget, i can put together another list including all extras for you to try out. Personally, I've tried streaming Rust with a GTX 1070, graphics on max, stream going and video capture software running and had only a little lag at certain time, so a single 1080Ti would preform very well, two would be ideal, or just normal 1080's, the latest i7's would all work well and 16GB of RAM is plenty IMO

Ryzen is supposedly great for streaming. Have a look at Jayztwocents on YouTube, he tested it out with Ghost Recon Wildlands and was pretty impressed.
