Thinking of Buying a 8800GTX

I currently have a X1900XTX and I am thinking of purchasing a second hand 8800GTX from the MM some time soon. Would this be a good upgrade?

I have a 22" TFT, so I would like to play games at 1680x1050, but at the moment I can barely play games like Crysis and UT3 at 1280x1024

Would it be better if I wait until the new ATI and nVidia cards come out at the end of January / start of February, as people will be selling their 8800GTXs and the prices will drop?

By what I have heard then I am not so sure that people will be selling their GTX's straight away. Depends how long you can wait. The longer the better, then as you say you can see how the prices drop.

But getting the GTX would be a huge step for you and I think you would be happy

we will not be selling out GTX's for that 9800gx2 pile of pants that is 2 8800 series stuck together. Sorry but you will have to wait until the 9800 gtx and ultra come out before we flog off the 8800 series on mass

so sorry but it will be more likley april when you get a mass selling off of GTX's
