Thinking of getting a contract?

Hi all.

Looking for a new phone and I figured it would work out cheaper to get a contract phone, by the time i've spent say £200 on a PAYG handset, and then credit each month.

I don't really know much about it, but the 02 online plan seems good. £25 a month for 750 texts and 150 mins if I remember rightly? I wouldn't want to spend more than £25 max a month, with a free phone.

With the 02 online tarrif, can I login online and see how many free mins/texts I have left?

Am I better off getting a tarrif direct from the network or a place like CPW/E2Save etc? Don't really like the idea of cashback, i'd prefer to have the money outgoing/incoming then and there instead of waiting etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

I was in the same position a few years back now and decided to go contract. Couldn't go back to pay n go now, if you can control your texting/calling you'll have a set outgoing each month also, getting mins texts bundled is nice, plus the advantage of getting latest handset at little or no cost every 12/18 months.

If your going to use the mins/texts then its worth switching. Think the only downside is that if some months you don't use the phone much, for whatever reason, you still have the mins/texts and bill to use/deal with. At least with pay and go you can decide not to top up.

I have recently changed from orange to o2 and have been pleased with their serivce so far. As far as a phone goes, i can point you in the direction of the wonderful s.e k800i.

Yeah, cheers for that mate.

Plus I guess after i've been with them for a couple of years I can start to get my line rental down/better upgrades etc?
