Thinking Of Getting A DS Lite

Oh man. You lot going on about this DS lite business have aroused my curiosity. Will have to wait til payday until I can get one. Did I see somewhere that they are completely region free so you can play a game from any country/territory?

You got that right, region free!

Really really tempted by the DS Lite, I'm going to the US in a couple of weeks - is this something that is worth getting there, would it be a lot cheaper and would I have any probs?

Or being that the games are region free, would I be better off getting the unit here and then some games in the US?

From the prices people are talking about I can't imagine the games will be a lot cheaper in the US?

from my experiance i'd buy some games from america and get the ds from here in the uk, im now on my 4th ds in a week :( due to dead pixels, didn't have any trouble exchanging them though at gamestation once i called there customer service department

Yeah that sounds like a good idea - I'd rather be able to take the unit back to a local store.

I'll try and pickup some games in the US - are they completely compatible with a UK unit?

They seem to have a lot of the games for $19.99 at a large store, that seems pretty good, even the new ones are $34.99. Just checked Travelex and they say that = £17.57 - I didn't realise the exchange rate was so good! :D

Ive had mine since the weekend, top stuff! The brain training game is a good laugh.

Has anyone set there ds for wifi? What do i need to buy?
If you do not have a supported wireless router, you will need a Nintendo WiFi USB Connector/Dongle which can be found for £23.99 (I ordered one 2 days ago). My MSN is in my profile or if you prefer to email me for the company name, my email is michaeltams[at]googlemail[dot]com

The DS lite looks great good thing too is it apeals to people all ages as kids will love the colour cartoon action games and a lot of adults will have been playing games like Mario since the 80s so will always have a place in their heart for many Nintendo style games.

Been offered a DS Lite today.

WAS going to go for a black one, mainly because I think it looks sexier, I think the screen will be more vibrant against a black colour and I've heard a few reports/rumours/talks about the White one going a yucky colour over time.

Thing is, the guy at work is selling his White one cheaper (about £25!) so was wondering either...

a) How hard/stupid would it be to coat the white in a colour (we've the facilities next door to use to do a 'good' job)
b) If the white-colour yuckyness is just a possibility or if it's a definate.

Next question - can you play multiplayer with different language versions of the same product? So for instance say nephew has English language something or other and I have a Jap version, would we be able to play multiplayer assuming 'something or other' is multiplayer?

are they all daed pixels or just stuck pixels (coloured rather than black)?
If so, was this on all your games or just on 1 like with a few other people?

you see if its just on 1 game it really must be something to do with the game as opposed to the DS screens... it doesn't make any sense that a pixel is stuck for 1 game and not for another. Then again it makes no sense if its the games fault.. how would that work.
i am really curious about this. Theres gonna be a hell of a lot of refurbed Lites going cheap at this rate.

1st was a stuck blue pixel and the others was red, all viewable on everygame game i played and at the ds's main menu

I got a white ds lite yesterday with Brain age and NSMB. It's my first portable since the old gameboy and i'm loving it.

Future games i'm looking forward to are:
Starfox, Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy 3.

Been sitting at work all day with nothing to do apart from read about the DS Lite!! I so want one, would make these sunday shifts so much more tolerable, but I can't justify getting one plus all the games I want plus the wifi dongle thingy at the moment!!!

Roll on next payday :D

I sold my phat DS awhile back I'm holding out buying the DSL for a bit, not sure what I'm holding out for but hold I will.

Quick Question: Whats the range like on the USB Wi-Fi Dongle as my PC aint in my bedroom or sitting room where I would like to play the DS?

Cheers :)

Cool to see everyones good attitude towards a great system :p

Damn you Brits and your cheap prices!!
