hi my fellow ocuk's i dont usually post in motors i usually stalk GD and consoles. i'm 22 and been thinking bout learning to ride rather than drive and just wanted to find ppls opinions and experiences riding in winter what its like you know the pros and cons.

Hey, well im a all year round rider, can drive and ride but still after 3 years prefere to ride :p
Umm riding in winter, its not fun ill tell you that but this winter well where i am anyway i only got really bad rainfall about 3 times the rest was just average rain riding and no problem, but aslong as you keep your helmet clean and anti wet and ani fog addons then its no problem, but when its dry imo theres nothing better than riding a motorbike :)
You know the cons of biking everyone does no doubt someone will come on and give you the dangerous talk etc, but its like everything else, it has risks, but aslong as you dont ride like an idiot those risks are low, and the golden rule: ride as if every car driver is stupid and cant see you, its the only way to anticipate them, any idea on bike type etc?

i did hear that motorcycle drivers are meant to be the safest car users around.

Read somewhere that there were tests ets come mag or site did and it came out true, but im not going to say that will just get bashed on this forum lol :p but put it this way not driving for about half a year then first time i do my longest ever journey in a car and have to drive winchester to central london, i would say 100% that being a biker made me able to copy in london lol

Kool goog choice :) gunna be getting myself a GSXR soon myself, of cource your 23 so you can do the bike Direct Access and ride whatever you like but i would still recommend a smaller bike for at least 6 months something like a hornet or sv650, but if your going to do the DAS do it this year as im not exactly sure but that might be changing to minimum 25 yrs old soon

Theres more to bikes than top speed and lots of plastic. If thats what you want then great, but you might actually find you enjoy riding a gutsy naked Ducati is more your thing.

Sounds like a good plan :) cbt is easy and get your theory done straight after cbt leaves nothing but the test once you get some training and think your ready, my bros got his test monday lol :p finally ill have someone to ride with lol :)
