Thinking of selling my pc as i really like the look of the amd phenom 2 cpu as i want something new to play with.

Having never really sold any pc's or pc parts what would be a fair and reailstic price to charge for my current rig. The spec is in my sig it also has windows 7 a 1000 gig hard drive and a 300 gig hard drive not sure of the makes and spec and a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium 7.1 Sound Card (which i may take out as the mobo has decent on board sound) The case is a Antec 1200 and the psu is Tagan PipeRock TG900-BZ 900w Modular BZ Series.

Or would it be better to sell the parts on their own, the trouble with that is i dont have the boxes for them.

Thanks for your time.

An SSD will make your system more responsive and quicker if the OS is installed ona SSD. It's meant to be a great upgrade and to an extent better than upgrading RAM or CPU. As for the 5870 bottleneck, I wouldn't think so considering it is runninng at 4ghz, but I'm not too sure on that one!

get a ssd it really is a great os drive. maybe get a Q6600 and oc to 3+ghz if your after a bit of quad core action. not sure about the 5870 v 260 sli you'll have to look a some benchies.

I would stick with the E8600, fantastic core 2 duo. Another +1 for an ssd. Would have thought Gtx260 in sli worldly be struggling with anything at the moment. Ssd, then wait foe new intel architecture soon i'd day. If still want to sell guessing individual components would get u more, pick up some cardboard boxes but advertise that their not in original boxes.

I'd say get a Q6600 or higher, they match the earlier Phenom II chips in some benchmarks and not far off in most. In real world terms you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. Seeing as you already have a complete working setup, I'd say just go for a Core2Quad, and maybe an SSD. SLI GTX260s are easily powerful enough for a good while yet.

Maybe i am been a bit hard on the old girl.

The only games i struggle to run are just cause 2, bad company 2 and metro. But all of them i get above 30 fps and are just about playable.

I do feel my cpu is limiting me a bit.

Maybe i will upgrade to a quad and get a SSD and see how i go will check the nechmarks out now.
