Thinking of upgrading to 8800gtx

Just wondering if it would be waste to upgrade now? i'm looking at getting a evga 8800gtx, how good is there step up program? would i be able to use it to upgrade to an 8900gtx in the near future?

yeah if its within their 90days limit, also make sure you register it as soon as you get it or otherwise you might not be eligible for the warranty.
 
If you can wait till May then id do that as R600 is out then, and that should push prices of the GTX further down, plus you'll be able to see if they are any good as well, and if so you coud get one of those. :)
 
I was thinking about waiting for the r600 but i'm really impatient :o :( I was thinking maybe get the 8800gtx and then use the step up program when the 8950gx2 is released

As soon as R600 comes the GTX will drop in price,

Never mind when the 8900's come.

GFX cards depreciate very quickly
 
Sadly this is true, 6 months time the gtx i payed £350 for will be worth very little when nvids new card is out etc, look at the x1900xt etc they not mega old and worth buttons now.
