Thinking....?

As Roman said, if you sell it for a laptop you'll be so frustrated.

Just using a laptop for anything other than basic web browsing annoys me now :|

This.

Cannot game in any form on laptops touchpads just drive me insane with how rubbish they are. If you game keep Pc, if it's just for web browsing/word processing may as well sell your rig and pocket the cash.

i put my rig on sale on another forum as like you i decided that i didnt need my rig as i wasnt playing enough games to justify it and would be fine with my laptop. But after taking my whole rig apart to take pics of my parts i started using my laptop after about 2 - 3 days i hated it as it wasnt comfortable and i was missing the my rig i decided not to sell. Even though i dont use it as much its nice to know that its there when i need it.

You will regret it after you sell it and will be buying parts again for a new setup within a month

Easier to steal a laptop than a desktop.

Also, the keyboard keys wear faster on a daily-laptop as does the trackpad!

Unless it's a Macbook...but I very much doubt it is since you're trying to make money selling the PC :p

OP, have you recently been made redundant? Then yes sell for cashflow. If you're in a job, then no excuse. I was in a similar boat 2 years ago when I had the chop and I was selling off stuff that I didn't need. I kept both my desktop and laptop computer though, although I did sell an older desktop that I regretted because I only made £60 and it included an XP Pro license too :(

Nah i have a job, Electronic Engineer, im never short of cash so im not really to concerned if i sell it or not, i was just having a think about it as i barely use it now as i dont have time.

Then again, it is nice to go on it now and again and play with some old friends etc on there.

if anyone wants to have a game or what ever then add me on xfire / steam

Xfire: Spud567
Steam: Spuddy561

To be fair, I bought a laptop as I was in a position that I couldn't use a desktop. Not used my desktop since and that was 3 years ago!

I do use a mouse though - trackpads are a horrible thing.

I did it, swapped my pc for a laptop, was an excellent decision, I can now do some light gaming anywhere around the house I want (no longer have to be hiding away in another room!) and my laptop has some rather special ports, called U-S-B, they allow you to plug a normal mouse in and not use the trackpad.

Nitefly, I think the future will be a tablet/keyboard dock/desktop dock, and then a gaming PC if people still want to game..

I certainly agree with Burnsey, sell while its still worth something.
Thing is you'll be using your laptop a lot more if you sell your pc.....and you have an Acer.....and an Aspire at that, and they are a terrible brand. May not last as long as you hope.

Right ok cheers for all your opinians, ive been offered £600 for it think that is low for a price ?

And yeah the netbook is a little rubbish i only payed £90 for it, so ill most probably buy a sony vaio afterwards.

Tbh i wouldn't sell, having seen a notebook myself (wife's uses it) they are not that realible as much as a PC.

if the notebook has a fault, that means you have to either take it back to manufacturer for repair, or buy a replacement.

whereas a PC, if there is a particular fault lets say the GPU, that means all you need to replace is the gpu and not the whole machine, unless the mobo goes pop.

not only that the notebook keyboards a tiddly compared to the standard keyboard types.

then you have a small screen ect....not worth playing games unless you have a 23inch or above. I7 CPU are still being used by most modern games, whereas a notebook will become pretty old within a year, and you would be wanting a upgrade.
