This Business and Moment...

I do agree. I will try and get some interest from them, so at least it could fund building more. As you say, a lot more money poured into the space in all sectors of it.

I've booked my trips to Boston end of this month and then another trip to Salt Lake City in May. I'm on a "we have no ******* money and need to make the most of these trips" push, so managed to get the boston flights and airbnb for 6 days for just under $1k, and now hammering a hit list of colleges and Unis while I'm there. I'm currently doing a lunch and learn with a company called Affectiva and meeting the head of the MIT ILI lab, which is a bit strategic, so now need to hard sales meetings, too.

Chat went well, he's a sound guy and wants to intro me to the Global Head of Novartis "University" - they've just created a global learning division as before it was all spread out and they had 13 LMSs!! Now they're consolidating to just the 1 and have chosen Cornerstone for it. It would be a a nice corporate one to get integrated with, as they have some decent large clients by the looks of things (https://www.cornerstone.com/clients). Don't know what will come of it, but hey, see how/where it goes

links :p

You're going to smash it dude! You know it.

Setting up more meetings with Novartis learning now. I was speaking to someone who has done project work with them before, and it has the potential to be very much a lucrative project if I can get it setup right and block out the billing (and persuade them they want what we offer) - it's led me to think about our "offering" in that space, and have something more basic, not using our cool tech, but using pure events and data analysis to provide better analytics than they have (they have none) and that the vendor offers, with the option of enabling our engagement analytics on courses they want it. Could essentially use the project to fund the development of the suite of tools for enterprise. Then resell it over the road to Roche.

I've got another development I'm hashing out to present to them as well, see where that leads. Need to make it look real before our meeting though ha

Ah good stuff! Some interesting areas. I suppose it depends if you want to be delivering on technical or managing it. I hate delivering things personally now, but then I also hate SharePoint and anything that falls under a "collaboration" theme as I've done it for so long now it makes me want to drive splinters into my *******. I'm much happier managing the processes, with enough technical knowledge to know things can be done, but without having to do it :P haha

I suppose it's the question of; what do you want long term? Steady career in a nice company like MS, or more than that? The latter comes with the potential positives, and a **** load of upfront negatives. I finished this morning at 2am. I'm pouring every hour and penny into it, but we're getting some good traction now, so I'm hoping it gets easier (but from people I know having been through it, it's doesn't, it just changes).

I've got the possible opportunity to pull a bit of an IBM coming up, having the chance to sit down with Mr Global Head of Learning at Novartis. I will of course be presenting the case to develop a solution for their analytics, but since he's looking at the whole of learning and tying it all together better (his actual job title is Global Head of Novartis University) I thought I would present both emotuit analytics to them and also the Holomua career pathway management software (https://holomua.co) - Excuse the limited site, I did it last night as quickly as possible and will be tweaking it over the rest of the week before I meet them. I wanted to basically present the "product/company" to them. It would require some custom work for their specific systems anyway, and I have a team on hand to deliver it in 8 weeks, should I get a project from them out of it.

Hence going to bed at 2am.

You.need to decide if you're going to use 'organisation' or 'organisation' :)

And 'as' instead of 'has' here?
"companies stating employee turnover as a huge negative impact on productivity"
I think I'll take out huge, or reword it totally. Thanks. It was late and my eyes started going fuzzy :P
I'll have a scan through for organisations, too. Good spot, thanks!

I've just interviewed a great dev guy, senior, with great devops exp as well as front end, so full stack. Also has edtech experience, so that's a bonus. I like him. I want him. Now to negotiate... I have 2 more people to get on trial, too. I just need to get to speak with them properly again and work out an onboarding process :/

Oh, and massive plus, just had an email from Tennessee Tech asking us to go and demo for a mini internal conference that they host at the uni, saying, I quote: " Yours is an amazing tool that fits perfectly with our culture and goals, so I’d love to feature it again in our new setting."

Which is kinda cool. My year is busy.

Angelist.co is where I've found the most. The 2 trial guys are now in Slack, contracts signed, NDAs signed etc. One is Romanian and the other Turkish. Both have some skills. The more senior dude is really good, used to be CTO for another start up. Need to find out where he'll fit in the org and what level.

On project holomua, I've knocked up some wireframes to get to a design agency, so I can get the UI designed quickly, so I can do a mock "demo" of the product.

Back from Boston, was a bit of a nightmare situation going in, but managed to pull it round and met the people I needed to and since been lined up with some great connections, who I should be meeting when I'm out in Salt Lake City next week, fly out on Sunday. Man I'm so tired.

We've just onboarded like 3 people as well. Data systems manager who's currently building up our cassandra db for live readings. 1 senior software engineer, who used to be a CTO and is **** hot on devops, which is amazing as we need that. Another software dev who will work under the new dude and Sean. Met up with our VP of R&D in Boston too and talked about pipeline and next 3 months/6/12. Really useful, now to just hammer it all out and get the selling in at the same time.

It has felt so slow and hard the last couple of months but I'm mentally bringing myself back around and going to hammer this. (I get serious emotional swings :/ )

Anyway, that's me .

People annoy me... bugging someone, a "founder" to do simple **** for 2 weeks and nothing. I said wtf do I need to do to make this actually get done? Cattle prod? He was like well if you want me to resign. I said, sure, I can find someone else, if you want to **** your shares away, go for it. I'll get someone cheaper and harder working than you. HAPPY MONDAY!

I got back from Salt Lake City at 7pm last night after a week... I've seen my family for 4 days in the last 3 weeks and I'm tired and have too much work to catch up on, so dealing with this is precisely what I want this morning.

How's everyone?
