I could we practically do as we don’t have central heating.I wonder how many people can cope with turning the heating off?
There will be many who simply can't.
At least they can't disconnect you in winter? I think I read that
this is what confuses me as the VAT is built-in to the fixed tariff costs isn't it?Its a fair point. Many of the potential solutions may not affect a fix.
But I think VAT would?
You're right. Just checked a statement (for the first time ever )I have a separate break down of vat. So I suspect it would drop?
VAT isnt baked into the tarrif costs, its always separatethis is what confuses me as the VAT is built-in to the fixed tariff costs isn't it?
Only if your a pensioner I believe, but could be a wider benefit thingI wonder how many people can cope with turning the heating off?

(Pension being a benefit)
Doesn’t work very well in the winter. If there is seriously risk of blackouts wouldn't be able to work from home. Where's that solar?
It's just come on the radio about how the government are saying they are putting in place contingency plans for blackouts in the winter.
So this means there will be blackouts this winter.
They'll come from commercial plantations - more will be planted to replace those cut down. We have a wood-burning stove - it's an lot closer to carbon neutral than any fossil-fuel heating. It seems it's just convenient to ignore all the other emissions burning wood gives off and just focus on CO2 to say it's "green" that doesn't include the fact you have to cut the tree down to get the wood, otherwise the tree would live for years not decomposing because it's still alive
Jacob Rees-Mogg likes this.If there is seriously risk of blackouts wouldn't be able to work from home. Where's that solar?
If you say it like that it will trigger some folk hereIt's just come on the radio about how the government are saying they are putting in place contingency plans for blackouts in the winter.
