I don't know if i am breaching any forum rules here but.. this is an interesting topic.

So some kid has developed an algorithm and released his source code, that basically lets the user (with a powerful enough graphics card) use machine learning with his program, to render the face of anyone they like on top of another person..

i.e. Celebrities + Porno..

I think it will be used for a lot more than unpleasant(*) sexual fantasies.

Now that an extremely large proportion of people carry a video camera on them at all times, video is being used more often as evidence of something. The easier it is to fake video, the easier it is to construct false evidence. It doesn't even have to stand up to any scrutiny in any courtroom, since most trials are now carried out on "social"(**) media.

e.g. Take video of an assault, put a policeman's face on the attacker, put edited video on Facebook, start a riot. Make a video of yourself saying some unfashionably prejudiced stuff, replace your face with that of someone you don't like, put edited video on Facebook, ruin their career/social status.

* Some people, including me, think that consent should apply to using images of people for sexual purposes.
** I wrote it that way deliberately because a lot of it seems rather anti-social to me.
