I almost did this in a few years back when I was experimenting with a program called Metasynth, albeit in a different form. Unfortunately I got bored notating it all and never finished it.

Stockhausen wrote a piece of music called Gruppen in which he supposedly gets three orchestras working together to produce sounds by means of their frequency, where each note is a 'cycle' (as in hertz). I gave a lecture on it a couple of years ago but my notes are buried

Rather intriguing, reminds me of Level 4 from Ikaruga only not as soothing but maybe cos those colour dots were bullets in the game!!!!
