This is why PC gamers should stay away from Gametrailers

It annoys me, when you go to pc section it has trailers of the console footage.

I rage so mad, not just that they dont have much pc gaming coverage. It would be much appreciated if someone could give an alternative.
Thanks

You may say that "they are all different platforms", however, PC's require upgrading to play newer games, old games lose support due to changes in OSs etc, I would hazard a guess at it being a lot cheaper in both time and effort to buy an old PS1/2 and whatever game you want to play than to go about playing a game on the PC that won't run on W7 or Vista. Especially for someone like myself who doesn't get rid of old consoles, I currently have all the above and a gamecube and N64.

PC gaming has been going since the computer was first developed, so admittedly it's an unfair comparison. Suffice to say there are tens of thousands if you count from ~1950 to now (nobody has a complete single list, although the one on wiki is the closest I've seen). The 1980s was actually a huge crash as far as the level of gaming was concerned (the Atari \ ET fiasco and so on).

As for compatibility, not a problem if you dual-boot, and there's always emulators for the really old stuff.

/not read most of the thread.

I use gametrailers quite a bit because I like watching the video reviews but it did royally **** me off that they reviewed supcom 2 on the xbox and not pc!

Also the video doesn't work for me :S.

I havn't heard of many unsupported games and ones that are in the grave have been updated. C&C and RA work fine, GTA1&2. Anything that uses 3D acceleration works when I've tried.

And if you go further back to dosgames, dosbox is your hero.

I also prefer to emulate my games so I have all the consoles (excluding, xbox, 360 and PS3) on my PC, that perform better and look better. Using a 360 pad. :p

I agree 100%(apart from the pad). You can even play Golden Axe 2 player on the Megadrive or Arcade for example. Considering the games were specifically designed for the pads that came with the consoles(sensitivity, weight of buttons, small things that make a big difference).

The Megadrive for example. If you play the emulated copy of Revenge of Shinobi it is much harder to double jump which makes later levels just about impossible as they were extremely difficult even with the original pad(never beat the final boss even when I was that good at the game I got to him within 40mins with all my lives).

I myself have most consoles worth collecting, I don't buy anything before the Megadrive/SNES era because I would never use them.

I sometimes hookup my SNES or Megadrive on my spare TV(I have my Xbox(original), PS2 and Gamecube permanently hooked up). as I like giving them a good test out. I'm an avid collector of Japanese Megadrive games as it happens, the artwork is beautiful compared to the crappy Western stuff (most of the time).

Emulators are brilliant, simply for convenience.

Consoles are trying to emulate the PC emulate world, some are even using modified versions of freeware emulators.

Another area where the PC will never be beat in, without a massive premium that is.

back to pc vs console kinda, what realy grinds my gears is that my 'lesser, peasant console gamer friends' take the pee out of me for owning a pc and think im really sad, and there also really antisocial(mainly because of cod) they say things like 'oh cod's not good enough for you because it don't have dx11' and when im talking to my more godly pc friends (about 2 people in the whole school that actually have pc's) they start saying 'pc friends' i mean come on how old are they. what i find funny is that they call me sad when there the ones that talk about cod and how they got a crossmap tomohawk kill 24/7. in general i think consoles have desocialized people and made their life revolve around cod and very person i know who plays on xbox is aggressive  and then when they have a problem they turn to me and ask for help!!! one of thems save game on tdu2 got corrupted and he asked me how to fix it, i simily laughed in his face and said 'wouldn't of happened on pc'

Great website though, love just downloading a bunch of HD trailers and queuing them all up to watch.

Very easy to use, wish there was an equivalent for films.

IMDb has a good HD trailer section. http://www.imdb.com/features/hdgallery

Although, I guess you mean full films.

Is it just me that can't view the video :(? What am I doing wrong?

I can't either. Tried on IE, Chrome and Firefox and Google can't seem to find the video elsewhere.
