Just wondering....
Im thinking of upgrading my graphics power.
These are my ideas......

Buy a 2nd xfx geforce 6800gt and go SLI (obvious SLI benefits).

Sell my current 6800gt and buy one 7800gt. (new and powerful, but no SLI).

Which would be the best option?

Oh, and would by PSU be drained in sli?, im using a Tagan 480W (older model without sli luxuries), plus an clawhammer fx55 cpu.

Thanks!

7800gt will be faster than 2 6800gt's if i remember from previous benchmarks

so if you can go for that option

naa it wont m8, or at least it wont in games supporting SLI

Benchmarks as example

2 x 6800 GTs 9000 in 3d Mark 05

1 x 7800 GT 7000 in 3D Mark 05

I think I would still sell the 6800 GT tho and get a x1800xt 256 which would perform near enough the same as 2 6800 Gts, with out the problems of SLI

Thanks for the advice.....
Problem is i need a single slot card, as ive not much room.

And what problems can arise from SLI?
