I have a feeling once you clock that little lot past 2.5GHz you won't have any need for more speed.

Seriously one of those E6300's at 2.5GHz makes an FX62 look slow, AMD would need something like an FX66 to compete and thats Intel's entry level CPU except for the E4200 but thats not due until end of September....
 
Like Gibbo said itll knock the socks off any AMD but the E6600 isn't too far away. If you need a cpu now how about a really cheap Socket 775 Celeron?

Can't go wrong for £30 just until the E6600 becomes available.

Or if you need something a bit quicker than the P4 3.0GHz and 3.2GHz (531 & 541) are now only like £50 !! Absolute crazy prices from Intel, peanuts I say. :D

I definetly think its worth just picking up one of these bargains until the E6600 comes out, save yourself a bit of cash :)

kinda dependent on your graphics card if you were to use the same one, but that system will get about 4500 stock I think
