Your 3400 isn't fast enough for the 1900XT!!!!!! :eek: What CPU do you need to keep up with the XT?

endless question really....the 3400 is sufficient if you want to use all the GPU power for image quality issues. A while back I heard stated than a amd 64 @ 2.6Ghz would good to get the best out of the 7900's and 1900's...not really sure how true this is. my x2 3800 at 2.6 and 1900xtx seems to the job fine by the way!
 
I ordered that x1800xt an hour ago (along with the rest of a PC!), total bargain! £150 for a lovely graphics card. :D

you have an x1800xt and the x1900xt is only 10% faster why bother

I noticed a huge difference when I overclocked my 3400+ to ~3700+ speeds. If I were buying an X1900XT I would probably buy an X2 3800+ or 4400+ (for the extra cache) or go Conroe instead. But that's just me.

It's a little loud for a few seconds on boot as the fanspeed controller kicks in, but it's not very loud after or in games. It's too loud for some, but unless your system if really quiet you won't notice.

I put a Zalman on mine, love these things. :)

Its not really, but then again it depends on what you class as noisy ;)
At idle mine blends in with my case fans ( akasa ambers + generic@7v) only when in games does it speed up a little but not to the point of being overly loud, and anyways, by then the 5.1's so loud I cant hear anything else :D
 
Can someone tell me what days the "This Week Only" offers run from/to? Does the current one end tomorrow or Sunday?
