those car drying blades

I wouldn't even use one of those things on glass!

The glass on newer cars is pretty soft and easy to scratch, as I found out to my cost :-(

I don't even use a scraper in winter. I prefer to use pump spray de-icer and cold water to move ice.

Been using one of these for quite some time. If you are careful, and wash your car properly - the chances of something happening is quite minimal.

thats what i thought

i might borrow one and give it a go and see if i can avoid the D0000M

its a bit like when people talk about buffers and porter cables... you have to have a porter cable because a couple utter numpties have managed to destroy their paint with a normal buffer

it's nothing like the rotary/dual action argument, the logic is simple with these. If you have a tiny bit of grit caught by a waffle weave towel, it'll be caught in the pile and far less likely to scratch. If you catch a tiny bit of grit with a water blade, there is nowhere for it to go, other than between the blade and the paint.

Ignore the advice if you want, we're not giving it for the good of our own health

I use one :) No scratches yet, it's easy to see any dirt on the blade. If you rinse your car properly there's way less chance your going to get scratches. You can get scratches just as easily with leather etc.. Saves me so much time.

PS - the blades usually have a dirt trap in anyway so when you drag the blade if you get any dirt it should go there. Cross section looks like this |-|
