3 years is an age, far too many unknown variables to plan in any detail.

it's not really when you are thinking about long-term goals, i.e. getting a promotion, moving to another country, upsizing your house etc. etc.

If anything, 3 years is a little short, I always think in terms of the next 5 years.

Year 1

Gain work experience through science related job roles, voluntary work at specialist science school, attempt to find a science related career with a future. Apply for PGCE in Secondary science.

Year 2

Either start the PGCE in Bristol / Bath or continue in job and start renting flat in Bristol.

Year 3

Start job teaching and start renting in Bristol or continue with job.

After this, consider New Zealand after gaining a year or two of experience and some savings or stay put.

09/10 finish Bsc computing, work off backside for a 1st

10/11 Complete PGCE or Start Msc, not decided yet

11/12 If I did PGCE, start teaching and take Msc part time if possible.

11/12 If I did Msc, look for job if no jobs do PGCE

Kind of. I've got the start and the end planned but not the bit in the middle.

Currently I've got 1 year to go at uni, if I don't get a 1st then the year has been a waste. While going join a couple of social clubs and attend al the events. Then once I graduate I'm going to spend a month or 2 travelling to asia again, depending who I can drag along with me or just go it alone. I'll be applying for jobs when I return, which is where it gets a bit uncertain.

End result is in 3 years time I'll have my own place and a job but where that will be remains to be seen :D

I've started going the gym again so aiming to keep that up, and I've stopped drinking for the time being so I'll just see how that goes too. 3 years for both would be good I feel.
