Was giving my mate a hand today with his Rover 220 Turbo, we managed to break the pin and ball on a 1/2" extension that holds the socket on the end (dont ask!).

On lunch and after much swearing, took it back to our local halfords, bloke swapped it out for a brand new one out of the cabinet (even though ours was part of a set) no questions asked, just took the old one, didnt even ask for the receipt. :)

Top service! :)

Now just got to put it all back together tomorrow now! :(

Their tool warranty is superb. The rest of what they sell is debatable :) I sheared the end off my 6" extension (ooer), and they swapped it no problem. That the newer versions were somewhat beefier just made my claim easier!

Heard a lot of reports of them being brilliant for guarantee returns! And with a lifetime guarantee, you can't go wrong!

I've heard of them replacing an entire set for one broken socket :D

They aint so bad, ive got a trade card so its cheaper! Usually buy tools and oil, but bulbs and wipers are very reduced with it, two front headlight bulbs for my mates polo were £10 retail, down to £2.80 using my card.

I was in two minds about getting my Halfords pro socket and ratchet spanner set. As my gf said with a lifetime warrenty I'll never need to buy another set ever again so all of a sudden £100 seemed like a fair price.

Might get one for work as after the cheepie Homebase set I bought on the quick for a project we were doing decided that the socket didn't want to be attached AGAIN. One more set of skinned knuckles, one ****** off Rob and one socket with extension bar attached winging its way into Great Yarmouth harbour :o
