thunder and lightening

We had thunder and lightning right over the house the other day. Was sitting with my headphones on, so the first I knew about it was a huge clap of thunder that rattled the windows. Thought the dissidents had bombed the police station just up the road. Never been that close to the centre of a storm before.

Lightening = weight reduction.

Lighting = you know what that is.

Sort it out folks, the UK schooling system isn't that bad.

Skellingtons and chimbleys.

Saved me from typing that :p

And the second reply in this thread really should have been 'very very frightening'

Son, I am dissapoint...

Both my neighbours were struck not too long ago. We were very lucky since we were piggy in the middle. Blew out a lot of their electrics. Dug a two foot wide, two foot deep trench in the lawn from the touchdown to the home.. All the power and signal cables in the house had to be replaced. I've also seen lightning smash a crater into a concrete drive.

Read the small print on a surge protector. Doesn't protect against lightning strikes.
