I've returned from a weekend up in Scotland to see Tiesto perform his elements of life show. It was stunning, the best music event I've ever been to. Queued for 2 hours in the pouring rain before getting in at 6:30pm, I was right at the front of the queue. The set up was spot on, plenty of bass and good clear sound from the speakers. The lights and effects were out of this world, stage fireworks, smoke, lasers and strobes.

Everybody was a friendly bunch, you could move back and forth easily. The heat build up was immense, when the rear doors were opened there was steam pouring out from all the heat inside. There was one bar for 10,000 people and you had to queue to buy drinks vouchers, £10 got you 3 and it was 1 voucher a drink. A lot of people weren't happy with this set up but as I wasn't drinking it didn't bother me. Tiesto was on top form, really enjoying himself so overall a brilliant night.

Here's a compilation of video I recorded

This is a video of He's a Pirate, the best tune for effects, literally an explosion a beat at some points :D

Click on Elements of Life, and then skip the trailer. Click the tour guide and you get a map with all the shows. I think the next one is at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on the 7th July.

Damn, looked like such a great event. How do you find out about these events? I'd be quite interested in going to one.

Fliers, word of mouth, posters, their websites, etc.

My Manager went to this. She said it was absolutely terrible, she ended up selling her drinks vouchers for double the price as they ended up leaving at 11pm.

I wasn't drinking on the night, you get enough energy from the music so no need to drink really, therefore i had no problems with the bar. Tiesto was top form and never missed a beat.

Tiesto is awful now

Sadly yes, saw him at cream amnesia a few years back that was out of this world and i have him to thank for getting me so heavily involved in trance. Nowadays i certainly wouldn't go out of my way to see him and his new album is rubbish

His productions were one of the first things I loved about trance, then I saw some clips of him DJing in 2005/2006 and I couldn't believe it was the same guy. I inherited a free promo of He's A Pirate when I bought some other CDs off the 'Bay, suffice to say that's just gone straight back on. :o What a terrible track.
