Morning one and all. Hope all are well.

Its time to upgrade my PC, my GFX card seems to have randomly died and im pretty sure i need new ram due to random reboots. I'd like it to be able to run games like Destiny 2 on its "lushest" settings. Dont really have a budget in mind. Current specs are in my siggy.

Thanks all :)

What resolution do you game at?

And can you reuse PSU, HDD, SDD etc?..

Or complete new build?

Generally i game 1080. Tbh i dont mind it not running at 4k but 1080 @60fps is a must.

I'd like to reuse whatever parts i can from my old build as long as theyre up to the job :)

All I would replace is the gpu and maybe the psu as it's getting on a bit now. Just upgrading the gpu would give you a significant performance gain. You will probably have to update the motherboard to it's latest bios which is 2.90 and can be downloaded here. This is to ensure compatibility with newer gpu's.

Pastymuncher is right - i hadn't noticed the ivybridge.

The only thing i would add to his recommendation is another 8Gb of memory (second hand) as games are utilising 16GB more and more.

This coupled with a GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 will totally reinvigorate your rig for a relatively small outlay.
