I think you should go for an iPhone 4 its new and unique, features are excellent and is best among smartphones. There are also, many useful applications available which can enhance its appeal afterwards.

The iPhone4 has only just added features that have been on mobile devices for years! Camera flash, multitasking and video calling - all been done before.
You also can't tether either, unless you're willing to pay your carrier extra...
