tips on shortening trousers

Anyone got any good tips on shortening cricket trousers. Is it better/easier to do it by hand or sowing machine. And any good tips while in the process.

was thinking that but as theyre cricket trousers it doest need über high quality finish just needs a general shortening

hehe even if I did do that wouldarill need to turn then in slightly so no thread was dangling down etc
