Hi there, im planning on leaving TalkTalk, however I was with tiscali when they got bought out, and I never signed a new contract. Can anyone that knows or has had to do the same thing. Am I liable to have to pay a disconnection, or any fee of some sort to get away from them?

Any information is appreciated

i am in the same situation, if you have already dont your 12 months with tiscali you can just call up for your MAC so you can move over to another provider, i was not charge anything because i was out of contract since 2004, but just called up tiscali and ask them for your MAC and then ask them about any disconnection charges which should not be there anyway.

ye thats what in theory should happen, but I can see myself phoning and them wanted money for something, had this sort of problem before when I left orange, they billed me 6 months after I left for about £17 which I somehow owed them. Ill give them a ring, Im hoping to move to be broadband heard good things about them, and can only get 6-7 Mbps where I live, so there value package would be perfect :)

Thanks for the replies

I phoned up asking this, they categorically said i was not under any contract. Even got her to make a note on my account to make sure!
So no you shouldnt be under contract if you have gone past the original 12 months :)

I would cancel your direct debit with them as even after leaving they will continue billing you. Tiscali did this for two months after I left and it took ages to get it back.
