Are there any documented problems of people who have experienced slower internet ever since the TalkTalk takeover of Tiscali? Ours certainly seems considerably slower this past week.

A friend of mine in the Newcastle area has said his Tiscali speed has nose dived, since the take over by CPW.
Tiscali were taken over by TalkTalk? Goddamn... Being on Pipex it's gone Pipex > Tiscali and now TalkTalk (CPW). I've noticed that my Internet has gotten sigificantly worst in the last month or two and has had problems loading thumbnail images from Google and other sites along with horrendous traffic shaping during the evening hours.

I know p2p is throttled to hell during peak hours. The price for cheap internet = poor speed.

That sucks, I know Tiscali get a lot of stick but they gave us no problems and good speeds.

I think you will see more and more traffic management as time goes on. The few I know that use the steam gaming client, have trouble downloading more than one game a day, because of the speed throttling/lack of bandwidth.

Been with Tiscali from when they took over Lineone and never had any problems so fingers crossed that i'm now part of Talk Talk that things don't nose dive

My Talk talk connection is real fast chaps, but I live in small village and would not suffer exchange congestion.
I am on the 8mbit package but can download at 1024k and up load 100k so no problem for me.
As for steam I can tell you that talk talk do not throttle steam I always get great speed on it and downloaded several demos last night and Saturday, one at 945k so not to shabby.
Their telephone support is utter carp though, members forum for the win.
I do find the ability of the forum admins to adjust your line for you a handy addition on said forum.

Looks like its a game of pot luck, depending on where you live and how many connections there are at the exchange.
