HI

I just bought a Titian Goliath pre built overclocked machine from the website.

The cpu is meant to be overclocked to 3.60ghz, but after I set it up i found that it was still running at 2.6 at the fastest and most of the time it runs at 1.7 even when running games?

How can i get it up to 3.6ghz

I think its 3.4GHz, but even so it should run at that. Have you tried running prime or anything and made sure it isn't speed stepping? You can use cpuz to check your base clock as well. I'd just send a webnote to them if you find out after testing that its definitely not overclocked.

However i have heard people who have bought pre overclocked systems that the overclocked profile in the bios just needs to be loaded up instead of the default so it may just be something as simple as that. Send them a webnote or call them if you're unsure anyway, thats what i'd do :)

Yes I have the same setup and exactly the same problem. I am going to call OC today at lunch to see if they can help. If I find a fix I will post it here..

Occasionally this happens with my son's goliath, it is just a case of reloading the o/c settings from the bios presets

Sounds like you just need to go into the bios press F12 (Load cmos from bios) and select the overclocked profile then save and exit. However if you're still unsure i'd recommend just calling overclockers and they'll talk you through it or find out whats wrong if its not that.

I contacted overclockers and they told me how to reset the bios settings. However i have done that and it still runs at 2.66 and when the overclocking profile is left on the computer crashes now again.

Yeah same here. This is VERY annoying and have tried to fix it in the past and not much luck really.

They sent me 2 bios files and i only can get it to 3.4 i think without it crashing. so i cant even get it to the one they said 3.6Ghz which they advertised they could do.

This is annoying as we paided a lot for our systems and they dont even work correctly :(

Yes I am still having problems too.

OC sent me a new profile which I loaded into the CMOS. It worked fine for a while but now when I restart I keep getting a message 'The system is experiencing boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages' -and when I restart the clock speed is back to 2.66

This is really annoying. I can load the OC settings in again but I think it must be unstable because a couple of restarts later it just reverts back again.

What o/s are you running ? My son's goliath is stable under xp at 3.4 Ghz which is the o/c that it was sold at, not sure why people are expecting 3.6 ghz, but i have recently installed win 7 on my o/c amd 6000 box, it was stable under xp but i had to re do all the o/clocking to get it stable under win7

I think win 7 is far more picky about overclocks

edit this is from the review pages

I have been very impressed with the system so far, and the overclock only kicks in when you need it, at times such as playing games. Other than that it usually sits at 2.66 only boosting to 3.4 when the demand is great enough.

Now my son's xp is set up with no power management in xp settings and seems to run at 3.4 Ghz all the time

Im running xp and my system should be at 3.4 GHz.

Every two or 3 times when I restart I get the 'The system is experiencing boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages' message.

Ive posted in the support forum but havent heard anything back from them yet...

@muppet thanks -I would run core temp to check the o/c temps if I could get the OCuk settings to stick!! -but I have restarted 9 or 10 times now and each time I get the same "...boot failures...." message.

Still no answer from OCuk support. Yesterday I posted in the suport forum and emailed them directly. I am beginning to think about asking to return my machine for one that has been tested and runs stable overclocked. Its way too much money to accept anything less than a system that works as advertised.
