TN/IPS - Monitor advice needed

I know how that waiting feels. I'm glad you like the build quality - that's an important aspect and a significant plus for you already. I look forward to hearing how you find it once it's switched on.

Once you do get up and running wardie one thing i will advise you is to get fraps on so you can see if your in 60/120 mode. Some games auto default to 60 hz mostly dx10 and dx11 stuff seems to be the troublesome ones,dx9 stuff seems fine and aslong as you select 1920x1080 it will use your default windows desktop refresh rate (of course dont forget to set in windows you want 120hz ;) ).You`ll noticed right away that your mouse will feel smoother and that dragging windows around your desktop is a lot smoother also.

Also try to set vsync on and use triplebuffering to get the max smoothness,i know people argue that vsync introduces lag but updating at 120hz all but elimantes any feeling of lag even with vsync on.

Cheers - Well a quick look at the manual and it only does 120hz in the highest of resolutions anyways like you've kinda of alluded to? Used to disable vsync when playing CS many moons ago as it limited it to 72fps.

Yeah build quality is great and it looks impressive without turning it on :D

Argh I bet my new PC doesn't show up tomorrow :(

By all means disable vsync if you dont mind the tearing, personally though i cant stand it :) but id say try both ways and see if you feel any lag.i dont feel any between the 2 personally, although when ive had 60hz monitor i most definiatly have

Just remember that if you decide to disable v-sync you also need to use a tool such as RiverTuner's D3DOverrider to enable v-sync in Direct3D applications - this is a must if you disable v-sync. On more graphics-intensive games you should be able to up the detals, increase the AA level or enable supersampling if the framerate ever creeps above 120fps. Obviously this is difficult with some titles due to the huge variation in scene complexity (indoors vs. outdoors etc.) but for some you can comfortably play with v-sync enabled and no tearing issues.
