Just wanting peoples opinions, I have been long awaiting a new system build 'upgrade' and the time is near after reading these forums for some months

Been thinking of a crossfire ready set-up 'in case' i ever get another card, but thinking about it I wonder if I will ever get another card and will instead just replace with another single card solution (say available in the future - 10-12 months) that will negate the need to add another similar card to get the performance

hope that makes sense as its either a crossfire ready setup or lanparty xpert with a single 1900XT in :D

A single card is fine but i would still get a xfire/sli board anyway as 6-12 months down the line you might be able to pick up a second card really cheap. There are a couple of good SLI/Xfire boards out there which actually cost less then a normal "delux" board so there is no real reason not to.

You could wait for DX10 to come up, as there will probably be a new range of cards coming out! However, that will be in the beginning of next year, so it might not be worth the wait.

SLI board usualy restricts number of PCI slots but not a problem if PCIE expansion cards ever take off as the extra SLI slot is usuable

To do SLi properly you need a good power supply, great if you have one able to feed two hungry cards if not its more money on somethng you might never need.

Guarantee you would like to be able to say in 12 months that you have the latest and greatest rather than 2 older cards.

hey thanks for the comments

I have been mulling over what to do lol
I know that If I get an SLI/Crossfire 'ready' setup ill probably buy a single card solution, but If I get a single card ill wish I got CF/SLI.

Im running a Dell 2405 at the moment and want to run it at native res, I would presume a single 1900XTX would just about do that with low AA etc
