Right, im looking to set up surround sound in my bedroom

I have a lcd tv and my xbox on one side of the room, and my pc on the other.
If possible id like to have the speakers set up for all of these.

however i have never had surround sound in my life so im a complete n00ber as how it all works

So basically can i set up a system connecting all three? if so what kinda speakers should i be looking at?

You just need a av amplifer, they have enough inputs for your needs. However will you be sitting in the same position for all uses (Xbox and PC?) Otherwise the speaker arrangment will be wrong, ie if your PC is opposite your TV.

As for speakers that'll depend on your budget.

hmm, i was thinking that if i put a speaker in the corner of each room, but if it comes to choosing, id rather have surround sound for the tv

As for budget, there is no budget

In the corner for each speaker might not be the best place. Have you got a top down view of your room?

Is £2000 ok? £20,000? What?

Right il draw a top down view in a minute, as for budget i suppose i have a budget :D , 20K would be abit much, id say no more that £350-400

For that budget I would buy a av amplifier and stereo standmount speakers for now, and buy the remaining speakers & subwoofer later on. £400 will get you a HTIB, or a really budget av amp/5.1 system.

Go and have a listen to a £400 HTIB, and a £200 av amplifier & £200 standmount speaker system. I guarantee (unless you're deaf) you won't choose the HTIB.

My room

Im presuming that picture is not to scale. So I would personaly (if at all possible) to have the bed under the window on the right side. The TV and PC at the other end.

You can then have the 2 front and center speaker on the TV/PC wall and the other 2 or 3 surround speakers on the bed wall. Either having them placed on the window wall or have them place on the side walls.

You will need a Surround sound amp that has DD and DTS capabilities. Hopfully have it 6.1 surround that way you will have to have a 6th speaker, this one is the rear center one. The sub you get in most packages can be placed more or less anywhere in the room.

Did you bother to read your first post?

theres nowt wrong with his first post?

unless you have your pc and tv in the same place your gonna have trouble using the speakers for all sources without the channels being in the wrong place/position which kinda defeats the point in surround sound :)
