Someone egged my old Mondeo Estate once. It washed off but left loads of "cracks" in the paintwork, below the lacquer.

That said, I love getting in and out the car without opening the doors, it's badass, even in an MX-5.

Just had a quick inspection in the cold light of day and i'm not sure if it's left water residue or egg on the bonnet, but whatever it is i'm going to need to give it another wash and dry before i can really see if it has damaged it. I suspect it has

Will scratch X or T-cut get rid of any discolouration at all?

You're probably better off with a machine polisher to remove it properly.

Egg can be a nightmare. When I worked in uni halls the security guards Rover got egged.

Thankfully he calmly went outside and worked out which room the eggs were being thrown from. Fast forward a few days and the matter was being dealt with by the accommodation manager who got the scrote whos room it was to give up the names of all involved.

I think they were quite surprised when they got the bill for a respray of the roof and bonnet
