But I can't get hold of a single person in their HR department, all I get is answering machines.

How infuriating is this?! VERY, in fact.

Should've heard by post but that was not the case. I think it's very rude that they have not informed me as of yet.

Thats the way it is though, they offer the job to a person first before informing the others they havent got the job, it cant take weeks to get back to the people who didnt get it as its just a courtesy call or letter really, there is no immediacy needed on the employers behalf.

Learn some patience, they wont want someone to work for them who just irritates the hell out of their HR department... they said theyd let you know and they will when they do.

Irritates the hell out of their HR department? By ringing to find out if they're offering me the position or not, something they said they'd do by today? Not entirely sure what you're getting at here or where you got that malformed opinion from, their very job is to respond to things like this.

Fair play if they haven't given me the job, I'm not that arrogant to think that I should get it, I just find it professionally rude and incompetent to state that I will have found out by today and then not come up with the goods. There isn't even anyone answering the phone which is very frustrating (must be annoying them already!).

If they do offer you a job you should refuse it, who the hell would want to work for such a shoddy and unprofessional outfit?

Well I think I just might.

Joking.

I'm just stressed from work and stressed that I can't find out, I just expected them to just at least answer their phones. It will be very frustrating to have to wait over the weekend to see if I have it or not, that is all.

I still think its rude though. ;)
