Havent been upto date with PC's for about a year now. Whats the best SSD i can get for my mobo? because im guessing they mostly run sata3/sata 6gbs?

I know it says sata II but would this SSD be ok? or would it be better to get a new mobo with sata III and see a bigger increase?

Will this suit my 10" netbook N450 atom, 2Gb DDR2 Win7 ultimate, to replace a 160Gb 2.5" HDD and will I see a speed difference?

Does it need to be in a specific mode IDE or AHCI as I am not sure if bios accommodates this?

Just buy a pair of 30GB and do RAID 0. :D

But as an OS drive 30GB is more than big enough. :)

Lol, raiding these isn't a bad option. I really need 60gb as a minimum, OS, photoshop, ms office and a game or two...oh and a second 60gb ssd for fsx!!lol.

Come on gibbo, pull some strings and lets see one on TO?!
;)

It will fit your netbook, as its a 2.5" drive.

When I tried a spare Intel 40Gb SSD in my NC10 netbook I saw no noticeable improvement in performance. This led me to believe the Atom CPU is the bottleneck.

Thanks, just what I needed to know, andy.

SSD is the #1 upgrade people can make to improve pc performance, mechanical hard disk is the slowest link in the chain by far

Definitely would get one if I had the money spare and chuck windows on there plus a game maybe. I have tried ssd in the past, dramatic difference

Hi there

My laptop at home had a 320GB Western Digital HDD in it, a couple of years ago I put in it a Samsung 30GB SSD with 100MB/s read and 80MB/s write performance and need less to say the difference in performance was astonishing and I gained about 20-30mins battery life too.

Now 2 years on, its still running strong and I've still got 8GB spare storage.
