tempted by the 6950, how noisy/quiet are the reference coolers on them?

To be honest I feel they are very reasonable however when the fans spin up they can become the loudest part in your computer. Operation is silent in windows and in games its barely audible however lengthy gaming will cause any graphics card to spin up once in a while creating a little more noise.

Ok thanks so how about comparison to a reference gtx480, my fear is using a gtx470 twin frozr everthing is gonna be noisy...

if only it was another brand of 6950 i would buy one :(

Absolutly nothing wrong with XFX, my last three cards have been XFX branded and all have been exellent.
(currently using a 4850 in this rig and still have a blast on BFBC2 and clocked it to 700MHz no problem)

Also if it's a warranty issue you are bothered about isn't the two year warranty with OcUK with the XFX cards?
