am reallytempted but am not convinced 30gb is enough for os and future updates or service packs?! I'd want to install 64 bit windows which takes about 20gb.

Someone convince me I'm wrong as I've been itching to buy a ssd for too long now!

I have a 64gb ssd as my OS drive, the 30GB would be nice to install games on since i'm pretty limited atm with the 64gb. I'm assuming running a game off the 30gb ssd will still be significantly better than a standard drive.

Well yes in theory, but overkill for just one/two games i feel. The latest games are up to about 15gb.

No, it's not too small

, if you don't have an ssd this is a great price for one, I have a 60GB ssd and could easily manage with the 30GB, So far with mine I have used 23.6GB, that's with Windows 7 64 bit, service pack 1, Battlefield bad company 2, Medal of Honor, and various small app's like media players and temp monitors and unigine heaven, open office, etc,

tbh, I'm inclined to wait for the next offer on the 120gb ssd's- their pricing is already way closer to the magic £ per gb mark so better value for money with the added bonus of more space to boot!

I may still consider this kind of size for my htpc tho

Yeah I agree. Although most users would be fine with a 30GB boot drive, I'd much prefer to have a bit more headroom and get a 60GB drive at the least. Would have been nice to see it on offer...here's hoping it appears on Monday!

ive got win7 sp1 and just over 1.5gb of program files on my 60gb agility and its used 14.1gb, thats with system restore and indexing switched off.

but saying that i got the 60gb version anyway because its faster.

These 30GB drives might be an interesting punt if the SSD caching feature of the Z68 are all it's cracked up to be. Sure, it's not going to be as great as a large mainstream boot-drive, but it could be a good way of gaining performance out of your 100GB+ Steam &c games stored on a larger mechanical HDD without shelling out on a 120GB+ SSD.

Shame I have the dosh for neither an upgrade to SB/Z68 nor an SSD

I suppose that makes 30gb viable but the slower read speeds are now making me think this wouldnt be good enough for my main rig but more suited for my old e5200 based htpc- budget ssd for a budget htpc eh?!

The agility 60 or 120 seem better value but I'm miffed I was indecisive to make a move when the offer was on!

well, iv got the 60gb agility and tbh apart from my boot time dropping from 41 seconds to 17 seconds i cant tell any difference whilst in windows, for example, ccc for me would take about 5 seconds from clicking it to opening it and it still does.. pc wizard is much the same really and the passmark bench test actually takes noticeably longer to load but that could just be me i dont know BUT saying that my passmark score has risen from 1840 to 2440 so theres definitely some benifit here i must just not be seeing it.

I have a 30gd SSD. Win7 Home Premium on there. 6gb left for future updated. Plenty of space.

Sorry dude but what -

My battlefield takes up 8.48GB, Medal of Honour probably takes up a few gigs, open office takes a few hundred megs. I really find that hard to believe.

Take 8 Gigs off your 23.6 leaves 15Gb for windows, MOH, open office etc...................
