H.E.A.R.T. HALLEFFECT ACCURATE TECHNOLOGY™” is the name of the new technology developed by Thrustmaster to reproduce movements made on a product in games. It relies on magnetic – and not mechanical – 3D (HallEffect) sensors, placed in different locations according to the product in question. The precision made possible by the use of this technology is significantly higher than that provided by standard technologies. Another advantage of this system: by eliminating all friction, it guarantees zero mechanical wear, for permanent precision that won’t decrease over time. The level of precision is also enhanced by the absence of any dead zones: even the slightest movement made by the player results in a reaction. Actions in games are therefore more linear, smoother and without any untimely jolts.

- Authentic wheel: 30cm (12”) in diameter with brushed metal central spokes
- Authentic sequential gearshift levers: crafted of brushed metal, attached to the base (so they don’t move with the wheel)
- 17cm in height (for instant access along 1080°)
- Precision, Force Feedback & realistic angle of rotation
- New H.E.A.R.T Hall Effect AccuRate Technology™ on the wheel’s steering:
- Ultra-precise wheel, with 16-bit resolution (65536 values on the steering)!
- Precision that won’t decrease over time (contactless magnetic sensor)
- Force Feedback with industrial motor (Torque 150mNm, 3000rpm, 65W, Ø 52mm/2”)
- Super-powerful, quick responding Force Feedback mechanism
- Rigid motorized stopper, no matter what angle of rotation you select
- Mechanism with large dual belts (fluid and smooth action)

How is this better than the WD green that is currently £59? Genuine question btw

edit: ahh I see SATA 6Gb/s instead of sata II

Is the performance of these mechanical SATA III, 6Gb/s drives any different to a standard SATA II 3Gb/s drive?

Only really on SSDs are you doing to notice a difference.
I find it amusing that they're doing a 5,900RPM drive with SATA 6Gb/s. Maybe on a 10,000RPM or 7,200RPM drive as a marketing gimmick, but on a 5,900RPM drive it's just pointless.

Pretty much what I thought too. No clued up so much on HDDs so just thought I confirm.:) ...basically marketing ploy.

It sort of it marketing yes however your missing the key here.. Platter density! If its tripple platters for a 2TB drive or better still 750gb platters on a 3tb then you will see some serious speeds. The only noticeable issue is the seek times are not as good as they could be.

All in all a very good drive for the money :)

A simple way of looking at it is:

Higher patter density (more GB per platter meaning the less number of platters in a disk of a certain size) makes a faster disk.
Higher rotation speed makes a faster disk.

A disk with high RPM and few platters is the fastest.

And SSDs are just ZOMG fast :D.
