Zalman ZM 1250W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply @ £119.99 inc VAT

CA-061-ZA_400.jpg

Thanks to a new design the ZM1250 efficiency of the unit is very high 89-93% (20-100% load) top efficiency. It also uses a powerful and highly reliable DC-DC module (to increase performance and reliability), along with full bridge and LLC resonant circuits which lowers switching losses, boosts efficiency and is guaranteed to deliver 1250w continuous power even in a warm case (up to 50 °C).
The ZM12050-Platinum boasts an ultra-quiet 140 mm fan, the speed of which is controlled by the Smart Fan Control system. This means that the fan won't spin at all until the PSU is under 40% load and this minimises audible noise ensuring the PSU remains as quiet as possible during operation.
Component quality is always vital for the longevity of a PSU and Zalman are now using high quality Japanese capacitors. These offer greater stability at higher operating temperatures, frequencies and currents giving a high powered PSU like the ZM12050-Platinum the edge in reliability and performance.
It also incorporates heavy-duty protection circuitry which guards against over-current, over-power, over-voltage, over-temperature, under-voltage and short circuits.
As with most modern PSU designs, this unit features a modular cable system. This allows you to remove those cables which aren't needed, improving the appearance, maintainability and airflow inside your PC case. A further benefit is that all the cables themselves are flat which makes them less bulky and cable management even easier.
Eight PCI-E cables allow this PSU to support 4-way SLI and CrossFireX configurations making this the perfect PSU for high-end gaming enthusiasts.

PSU is a CWT OEM unit, so it's built pretty well. The only qualm with it is that it's dual rail, and the rails are slightly wonky (45A & 65A), so you'd have to balance them accordingly with high power consumption GPU's. Slightly older design though, registered 80PLUS certification in 2011.

Hence why were giving them away, we want them gone. :)

To be fair anyone who can't do that shouldn't be building a high spec PC. If they can't do that they would probably wet themselves if you asked them to set the FBS/Multi/Volt jumpers on an old motherboard lol.

I thought Zalman had gone bust? therefore no warranty? It says 5 years in the description.

My OCZ ZX 1250w PSU sings and squeals like a pig, I can't send that back under warranty since they went bust!

Zalman have been cleared from the case, and the courts decided it was not their fault, but their parent company's. As such they're still alive, and releasing new cases.
