Yeah, I think a very good price. Add an aftermarket cooler, crank it up and you have a 580 and you've still saved £100+.
580 gtx can be had for 70 quid more
470 sli can be had for 50 quid more
6870 sli can be had for 60 quid more
all of which destroy this EOL grill machine.

Yeah even a 480 clocked to 580 speeds is hardly slower as shown by the anandtech review, with the same clocks as a 480 the performance difference is laughable TBH. £299 480 is bargain central.

Are the GTX 570s out in 9 days time? Has this been confirmed?

For people who prefer single card solutions I would say a 480 @ £300 + an aftermarket cooler = £332 against the 580 @ £450(cheapest in stock)is a bit of a no brainer= £118 for a nice ssd or whatever. Performance difference not worth the price difference.
I reckon quite a few will be bought by people with a gtx480 already.
Lets face it, twio gtx470's destroys a gtx580 and so two gtx480's will be powerful for some time to come. I reckon two gtx480's will be on par with a 6990.
Through in the fact that with two Nvidia cards you can then multi monitor.
