I remember someone from OCUK predicting that the price of HD5850/70s would soon rise after the launch of the HD6*** series, due to lack of supply. Something to do with continued demand for 2nd cards for Crossfire setups.

Are OCUK staff mostly ex Estate Agents by any chance ? ;)

i was tempted by the 5850 then i saw the 5870 was only £159 and i was undecided LOL is it worth the extra £50. Im upgrading from a sapphire 5770....hmmm decisions LOL
 
i thought the 1gig 6950 was worse than the older 5870? it was only the 2gig version that was slightly better??
 
They are similar but the 6950 is still slightly faster (worst case scenario the same), has better tessellation, quieter and uses less power.

Obviously worth a tenner extra!

Hell you were going to pay like 50 quid more for basically no gains over a what a 5850 can do oc'd :D
 
No probs, was looking at the 5850 myself and then was like what can I get for a bit more. I understand you can always keep adding a bit more money and it can never end so you have to draw the line somewhere :)
