Today we move to a larger internet.

With the growth of mobile devices such as smartphones, and the huge increase in internet activity in growing economies there is simply no room for growth even if you redistributed all the unused and 'rubbish ones'.

As for the why put a link on their main page? well some people are interested in technology, if you are not, don't click the link. It's not like they force anyone to read it.

well acording to googles test i do not have ipv6 but shouldnt have any problems on websites that add ipv6 support.
so im safe and covered and would never have known any different if google hadnt put the link on their site, would have blissfully browsed the internet as normal for many years to come (unless the mayans are right)

And you still can go on blissfully browsing the internet as normal. If you don't care about any of this as things wont change for you then just leave this thread and ignore it. For those that want to know more about the internet but don't follow tech new sites google is helping to keep them informed of what's going on.
