Chicago and cook county has had a record of 1,000+ homicides this year.
The youngest person killed in Cook County this year was a 1-month-old boy, the oldest was an 84-year-old man.

The city of Philadelphia had a record 550+ homicides this year.
California homicides jumped 31% last year with 2,202 homicides this year.
Baltimore had 260+ homicides this year.

This is just a few of democratic cites letting people kill each other.
Mostly black killing blacks.

I hope it gets way better next year.

And what do you suggest they do about it? Maybe a concerted effort to get rid of all the guns might help? Or perhaps allowing blacks greater access to opportunities to get them out of the slums?

Educate them.
But one can't help people with Their own ignorance, their own laziness and their own poor decision making.
The Defund the police is not working. They should at least try to get the police back on the streets.

The dems in charge don't seam to care.
In fact Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blames everyone else except herself.
She even blames the shops owners for getting robbed.
Chicago have lost over 1,000 police.

The Gov of Florida has told the police to come to his state and they will get a sign on bonus.

And when a place has zero bail. The people will do what they like because nothing will happen.
"California’s zero-bail policy sets free 14 smash-grab robbery suspects, LAPD chief says"
"Man arrested for alleged kidnapping, sex with minor, Gascon's office recommended $0 bail: California"
"California's no-bail policy sees man arrested for auto theft 13 times in 12 weeks"

Maybe they should stop glorifying gun and drug culture?

I think a big factor in the last couple of decades, especially for the black community, as been gangster rap and glorifying gangster culture.

And the biggest joke is it was all fake back then. The rappers had never been 'on the streets'. They were rapping about a fantasy lifestyle.

These days the kids think its a real thing. Real life imitating art.

You think NWA rappers were from the streets? :D The only real street rapper was Eazy E.

Snoop Dogg was a straight A student, as was Dr Dre. They are called "Studio Gangsters".

Though at least they could rap about something. These days most are talking jibberish.

There are others rappers from those days, wrong about Snoop as well. While they all may not have been actual criminals its a bit of a stretch to paint them as having easy lives.

Besides, its still way off base claiming gangster rap has much of an influence. What has more influence is crazy right wing gun lobbies and the white people getting rich from guns for the past decades while watching schools get shot to bits on a daily basis.

Snoop was a straight A student at school. Got high marks.

I used to listen to rap music back in the 90s. I liked it back then. It's only now that I wondered how they got away with it, and the effect its had on future generations.

You can't be seriously claiming that black communities don't have a gun problem?

https://www.kff.org/other/state-indicator/firearms-death-rate-by-raceethnicity/?currentTimeframe=0&sortModel={"colId":"Location","sort":"asc"}

That chart compares the gun deaths based on race.

Impact of Gun Violence on Black Americans
https://everytownresearch.org/issue/gun-violence-black-americans/

Black Americans are disproportionately impacted by gun violence. They experience 10 times the gun homicides, 18 times the gun assault injuries, and nearly 3 times the fatal police shootings of white Americans.

Each day on average, 26 Black Americans are killed by guns and 104 experience non-fatal injuries. At least every other day, a Black person is shot and killed by police. These trends worsen in large cities, where Black Americans make up 68% of homicide victims.

To try to fix a problem you have to admit there is a problem.

As usual, it's not as black and white as you are trying to claim.

Chicagoans had been left with a pared-down police force due, in part, to record levels of retirement and budget cuts which eliminated 614 vacant positions in the department this year.

Add the vacinne mandate to that, with 50% refusing to confirm their vaccine status (and likely not vaccinated) and there is your problem.

So even though the vast majority of guns used in violent crimes are obtained illegally its the Republicans and the white mans fault? I thought you were more intelligent than that.

Years of gun obsession and constant pushing of arms all contributes to the gun supply, legal or not. These people are culpable in the continuing downfall of the US.

From what I can see there's a record number of police in Chicago taking retirement/early retirement citing working conditions - the number has already exceeded the past 3 years combined - out of the 1000 quoted by deuse 600 were due to retirement, with 400 being due to budget cuts. Chicago are also struggling to add new recruits. Regardless seems that reducing policing numbers increases the crime rate.

The vaccine mandate seems to be only responsible for 30ish folks from that figure.

Apologies for the resurrection, but I thought this item from a U.S. forum would be interesting.
A Pennsylvania woman obtained the necessary licence to carry gun permit after being robbed in a Philadelphia alley.
Some time later she drove across the state line into N.J. to go to Atlantic City.
She was stopped in a routine traffic stop, and was asked if she had a weapon in her possession, she answered yes and produced her carry permit, and indicated where the weapon was.
N.J. has some of the strictest gun laws in the U.S. and does not recognise permits from another state.
She was charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm, and possession of hollow point bullets, which carries a mandatory 3 year sentence.
She spent 48 days in jail, before being pardoned by N.J. Governor Chris Christie.
