ok i have been experimenting again, this time with a circular polarizing filter just to see what effect it has on my pictures, any c and c is appreciated as i think thats the best way to learn (after trying things out for yourself)

Hi,

All good shots but my comments are:-

1. The sun is overexposed and the other areas underexposed. The eye is drawn to the over blown sun rather than the water and the ripples. The horizon is set at 50/50 and might have appeared better if you'd used the 'rule of thirds' to put the horizon either 2/3 the way up the picture or 1/3 up.

2 & 3 - While the focus is great on the subject, the backdrop is too distracting. If the subject had been on it's own and the colour of the backdrop was not nearly the same colour this would have been great. Try throwing the backdrop out of focus by using a narrower dof.

I'm no expert by the way!!!
