Tom Tom

It's my dad's Birthday soon and he has told me he would like a Tom Tom. Now I hav'nt got a clue what they are or what they do.

My mum saw one for £350 so I am not looking to spend anymore than that, can anyone help me with this.

Unless he drives in Europe on a regluar basis, get him the tomtom ONE. It's ~£230.

just got the tomtom go 700
its realy good, non of that cards to mess with (its got built in flash drive)
came with free speed camera database (if I can work out how to get it)
nice unit, well worth it, iirc the screens bigger on the Go 500/700 than the "one"

if you are looking at a 500/700 then hang on the replacement 510/710/910 are due out any day ( 910 is already out ) and look to be quite significantly inproved

I think it was the 700 she saw in the shop for £350, his b-day is this week so looking to buy it today or tomorrow.

He does'nt really drive a lot in europe but would be useful, Like i said I dont know a lot tbh.

I have a Tom Tom 510, and its really cool, (although i cant get the mic to work), the best feature i think is that it doubles up as a bluetooth handsfree. You can send textes via it aswell.

This is my first SAT Nav and in general i'm pleased with it.

thread got me thining so I just nipped out and picked up a 510 , my mic works but volume is low , can't send txts from phone though , suppose it could be handset compatibility
