Tomb Raider Anniversary: no next gen content

I've heard the new Tomb Raider game graphics dont have any next gen content like HDR etc. as found in Tomb Raider Legend, is this true? this a bit naff aint it :confused:
I bet a modern day graphics card would get 200fps with 8x AA, lol...
 
There's a cut-down pirate version floating about that doesnt have next gen features. I'm hoping the retail version due out next week does.

Can't see them not having it in there, I just hope it's longer than Legend. I know I'll be waiting before buying it.

Indeed. Legend engine runs really slow with next gen enabled so I can't see any reason why they would want to slow things down any more. But equally, they aren't going to remove that kind of content either.

Problem is some demos are deliberately crippled for filesize reasons (high res textures/content removed etc)
 
Legend only runs slow at a couple of places- end of the game where you're in the large room & monster/gun thing, and where you get ambushed in a quarry area. Apart from that ran ok.
 
I have pondered this same question too. Hopefully the next generation content will be present as it is the TR Legend engine. However, remember there is no Xbox version this time so maybe they removed it to make it fairer for PS2 owners? We shall soon know...

TR II was certainly great, TR 1 gets my vote though. TR Last Revelation was actually my second favourite, I loved the fact it was all set in egypt and had some really cool challenging puzzles and great level design. Furthermore it was such a long game and took ages to complete and it kept me busy for hours. I remember I upgraded to a nice Voodoo 3 card for that game :D . Would be awesome if they remade TR II though.

Looks like its true then, no next gen content (would explain the low file size). I had a feeling this would happen. Disappointing but not the end of the world and certainly won't spoil the game.

EDIT : Just secured myself a download! Downloading now :p
