TomTom One XL locking up

My TT is locking up on every journey. I cannot turn it off and can only reset it via the reset button at the bottom. This is becoming very frustrating as I have to pull over to do this.

Has anyone any ideas why this is happening? Is there a solution. Thanks in advance.

My ONE XL has done this a few times, its usual trick is to reboot itself when on battery power (even when battery is full!) - I took it back to where I bought it from and got a replacement, the new one does exactly the same! Cant be bothered to take it back again I think it might be a fault in the firmware?

Have you checked for any software updates for the device?

It was only bought Xmas could there be a firmware update that could alleviate this problem then?

The one I purchased for my other half just before Christmas did have various updates. Some marked as critical, but I don't recall what they were exactly for
