TomTom One XL Screen Question

I am looking to buy my mum a sat nav for xmas - something simple to use (very simple!). Everything I have seen suggests TomTom are the way to go. I tried out a TomTom One and a Garmin something or other in a couple of shops and decided the TomTom was definitely the one for my Mum.

My question now is regarding the screen of the XL version. My mum needs glasses on to read anything these days. Would the XL show things larger or just fit more onto the screen?

I suspect the latter but haven't found an XL on demo to check it out for myself.

I believe the map is the same (you can zoom in with the map thou on all tomtoms) but the text is defiantly a bit larger as well as being a little better spaced, after using the both in the last week I'd rather have the XL if only for so typing in a postcode is easier for those with fat fingers!

The One XL is much better to use than the normal One IMO - and remember you can ask it to show as much or as little info on screen as you want.
